I, Magius

During one of my travles, I saw a young mage struggling to better control his pet. Curious, I asked him why he bothers if it is so difficult.

"A mage's soul is forged in the crucible of magic," the gnome replied. "You choose to go voluntarily into the fire. The blaze might well destroy me. But if you survive, every blow of the hammer will serve to shape your being. Every drop of water wrung from you will temper and strengthen your soul. That is why I will not give up."

I nodded in agreement. Though the mage's path is not for me, I admired this young man's determination and strength of will.

Today, Misbik's determination has payed off in full. It is an honor and a pleasure to call him brother.
